Brady Bast

Brady Bast is a Senior Film Production student minoring in Entrepreneurship and Innovation. Even before his time at Penn State, Brady loved creating videos. As a kid, he would make short films and trailers with his ipod touch, often opting to submit school projects in video format. Throughout his four years of high school, he would familiarize himself with cameras and editing, learning Final Cut Pro. At Penn State, Brady would join a student talk show, Nittany Talk, and work his way up to Executive Producer, organizing work for 40+ members and producing 12+ 25 minute live shows per semester. As a director for CommAgency, Brady gained experience conducting and planning client meetings, setting up and conducting filmed interviews, and coordinating 5+ video deliverables for clients. As a Crew member for 46LIVE (THON’s Broadcast), and a worker for Bellisario Colleges’ media equipment library, Brady gained experience with operating/handling professional-standard media equipment. During his time at Penn State, Brady has also directed two films. One is an award-winning short documentary about a Penn State Professor, and the other is a narrative coming of age short film. Not to mention, Brady has also been a Production Assistant on countless student sets and one professional set.

During his time at Penn State, Brady has also immersed himself in several educational opportunities. Brady and 11 other students were selected by the Dean to spend a week in Manhattan, learning from important voices at companies like MLB, Dotdash Meredith, New York Times, GALE, and more. During his 2024 summer, Brady interned for Affinity Connection, a Marketing Company in downtown state college that specializes in combining storytelling + data to help clients achieve their goals. Here, he would learn under the guidance of a seasoned entrepreneur and begin learning, planning, and practicing to start a business. In the Spring of 2025, Brady was one of 15 students selected to study in Los Angeles, interning at two companies (Echo Lake Entertainment and White Horse Pictures) while maintaining a full course-load. While here, Brady’s excitement for producing and directing client projects only grew as he learned from countless people in the entertainment industry.
